Xuefei graduated with a PhD in Statistics (‘Cum Laude’) from Bocconi University in 2019. The thesis was titled “Sensitivity Analysis and Machine Learning for Computationally Challenging Computer Codes.” She was a post-doc research fellow at the Department of Energy at the Politecnico di Milano. In 2020, she joined the University of Edinburgh Business School as a lecturer. Since 2021, she has been part of SKEMA Business School, and were promoted to associate professor in 2025.

In 2024, Xuefei received the Clemen-Kleinmuntz Decision Analysis Best Paper Award for the paper “Information Density in Decision Analysis.” She is a council member of INFORMS Decision Analysis Society since 2023. She also serves on the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Operational Research since 2026.
